While vaccines, anti-malaria nets and antibiotics save lives, strong health systems are essential to make them truly accessible, affordable and acceptable to everyone. In order to realize and achieve Universal Health Coverage (UHC), national health systems must shift from aid-dependency to sustainable self-sufficiency, based on strong government commitment and the design and financing of a strong health system.
