Takeda’s Sustainable Value Report 2017 Receives Excellence Award in 21st Environmental Communication Awards

Osaka, Japan, 21 February, 2018 --- Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited [TSE: 4502] (“Takeda”) today announced that its Sustainable Value Report 2017 received the Excellence Award in the Environmental Report Section of the 21st Environmental Communication Awards. The annual Awards are co-sponsored by Japan’s Ministry of the Environment and the Global Environmental Forum*. Takeda has received a total of five Environmental Communication Awards, including the Excellence Award in 2011 and the Good Performance Award for three consecutive years from 2015 through 2017, in addition to this year’s award.

The Environmental Communication Awards recognize reports and other communications activity that contribute significantly to the advancement of environmental management and communication in business and improve the quality of environmental information disclosure.  

Takeda was recognized for its established track record in sustainability and unwavering commitment to improving access to healthcare, guided by long-term international targets such as the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Takeda’s strong commitment to reducing CO2 emissions by 30% by 2030 and water usage by 30% by 2020 was also lauded.
