Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited (‘Takeda”) notes media speculation that it will make a firm offer for Shire plc (“Shire”). Takeda and Shire continue discussions regarding a possible offer.

Takeda will make an announcement if Takeda makes a firm offer and reaches any agreement in due course.
