Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America Names Vice President of Human Resources and Administration

Deerfield, Ill. (January 8, 2007) – Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America, Inc., announced today that Laurene Bentel has been named vice president of human resources and administration. As a member of the executive team, she will be responsible for all aspects of human resources as well as the security department for Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America, Inc. and Takeda Global Research & Development Center, Inc. In addition, she will consult with and provide guidance to all human resources functions at Takeda San Diego. She is also responsible for supporting and guiding the unique Takeda culture and assuring employee satisfaction.

Prior to being named vice president, Bentel served as senior director of compensation, benefits and human resource information systems at Takeda where she led units responsible for the design, implementation, and administration of compensation, benefits, and human resource information systems. Bentel joined Takeda from Grant Thornton where she served as the director of human resources for the corporate office. While there, Bentel was responsible for coordinating human resource programs, policies and employee benefit plans.

Previously, Bentel worked at Apollo Travel Services, where she held positions as controller and corporate manager of operation plans. In these roles, Bentel managed capital and expense planning and was also responsible for building, implementing and improving other planning processes. She also analyzed profitability among Apollo’s product lines and built strategic plans for new business ventures.

Bentel earned a bachelor's degree from Northern Illinois University and a master's of business administration degree from the Arizona State University.
