Partnering with Purpose at Takeda UK
Partnering With Purpose
At Takeda, partnerships are core to how we deliver meaningful impact for patients, the NHS and society. We recognise that the most complex health challenges cannot be solved by one organisation alone. That’s why we work hand-in-hand with the NHS, government, academia, patient organisations, research institutions and community partners to co-develop solutions that lead to better outcomes.
As of 2025, 59% of our global public–private partnerships (PPPs) involve UK-based organisations, and we are engaged in nine active research and development (R&D) collaborations that strengthen the UK’s position as a world leader in life sciences.
Why do partnerships matter?
- We are able to tackle complex challenges together, allowing us to combine strengths and collaborate at scale.
- By joining forces around data, technology, clinical research and real-world evidence, we can accelerate new approaches and drive innovation.
- Through PPPs, research collaborations and support for local patient and community groups, our work reaches beyond medicines to health equity, inclusion and wellbeing.

How our partnerships deliver impact
Strengthening the NHS and improving care
Working with NHS trusts and mental-health services, we support service redesign – for instance enabling specialist nurses to lead on clinical decision-making, increasing capacity, improving access, and delivering better outcomes for patients.
Driving innovation across data, digital, and technology
Through collaborations with UK research institutions and regulators, we work to accelerate digital transformation, improve access to clinical trials, and advance precision medicine - creating a stronger foundation for future healthcare innovation.
Advancing clinical trials and R&D
We partner with academia, healthcare and clinical research organisations to develop the next generation of innovative treatments for patients in the UK. From biomarker discovery to improving diversity in trials, our collaborative approach enhances the UK’s position as a leader in life sciences.
Our local partnerships
Our local partnerships, such as with Paddington Life Sciences Partners, aim to improve equity in clinical research, widen access to educational and employment opportunities, and support community health and wellbeing.
