Opening of “TAKEDA LIFE THEATER” at Takeda Global Headquarters
OSAKA, JAPAN, April 9, 2019 – Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited (TSE:4502/NYSE:TAK) (“Takeda”) today announced the opening of TAKEDA LIFE THEATER, a new facility on the 1st floor of Takeda Global Headquarters (Nihonbashi-Honcho, Chuo-ku, Tokyo) on April 17, 2019.
TAKEDA LIFE THEATER has been designed as a facility that contributes to the development of the local community in Nihonbashi, an area known as “the town of medicine” since the Edo period.
Based on the concept of “embarking upon a journey of discovery inside the human body”, TAKEDA LIFE THEATER offers visitors an opportunity to visually learn about life and the human body, with a particular focus on health. Equipped with a state-of-the-art 10-meter wide LED monitor and a 5.1 channel surround sound system, the theater delivers compelling video content produced in 4K. It is hoped that visitors who experience this journey through the mysteries of life and the human body are inspired to think about how they can lead a healthier life in the future. TAKEDA LIFE THEATER is a bilingual theater that delivers content in Japanese and English consecutively, which can be enjoyed not only by Japanese-speaking audiences but also by visitors and tourists from overseas.
The first program to be shown, created with the cooperation of Nikkei National Geographic Inc., focuses on the intestines. Using original computer graphics, this 15-minute video explores the mysteries of the intestines, the role of intestinal bacteria, and offers information on how to improve intestinal health in an easy-to-understand manner.

This 15-minute video explores and explains the mysteries of the intestines based on recent scientific findings, and covers the roles of intestinal bacteria as well as tips to improve intestinal health. The video has been designed to allow viewers to learn about this hidden ecosystem within the human body irrespective of which part of the video they start to watch from.
