Charity Donations for Ho Chi Minh SOS Children's Village

March 3, 2018
The Representative Office of Takeda Pharmaceuticals (Asia Pacific) Pte. Ltd. in Ho Chi Minh City (RO) has a strong CSR outlook  and looks for ways to contribute back to local communities. On 3rd March 2018 the RO visited the children at SOS Children’s Village Go Vap, which houses more than 160 orphans. Despite the number of orphans the organization has a structured system to ensure the children are brought up with care and love. The organization have a program called voluntary “SOS Mothers”, intended to offer dedicated mentors for children. Each SOS mother mentors around 8 children on average.
On the day of our recent visit, we interacted with SOS mothers to understand their daily activities and how they help with the development of the children at the orphanage.  We were also fortunate to spend time playing with the orphans by splitting and painted piggy banks with them. It was heart-warming to see the children expressing their emotions through their paintings.  We left with smiles on both our faces and were happy to have had the opportunity to spend time with them.
