Shinji Honda
Director, Special Missions

Shinji Honda is Special Missions and Director at Takeda.
Since joining the company in 1981, Mr. Honda has held a variety of positions of increasing responsibility within Takeda including sales & marketing, controller & treasurer, and investor & public relations. From 2001 to 2004, Mr. Honda was Executive Vice President of TAP Pharmaceutical Products, Inc., a former joint venture between Takeda and Abbott.

In 2009, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Takeda Pharmaceuticals North America, Inc. (TPNA). Following this role, he served as Chief Integration Officer during the acquisition and subsequent integration of Nycomed in Zurich, and then as Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy in 2012. From 2015 to May 2017, he served as Corporate Strategy Officer, and was responsible for Corporate Strategy, Global Licensing & Business Development, Global Commercial, Global Customer Insights, Japan Consumer Healthcare Business Unit, as well as Corporate Business Center.

Mr. Honda earned a bachelor's degree in economics from Kyoto University in Japan, and a master's degree in management from Stanford University in the U.S.
