Diversity and Inclusion

Takeda strives to have a workplace as diverse as the patients we serve. We are committed to embracing differences, exploring possibilities and developing our employees. Our success depends on fostering an inclusive environment where all employees are welcomed, empowered and inspired to use their unique voices and talents. This is how we will find innovative approaches to serve our patients, customers and communities. This is how we will reach our highest potential together.

Christophe Weber,
President & CEO

For more than 230 years, Takeda has served society with innovative medicines that help patients enjoy their lives to the fullest. To achieve this, Takeda has made Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) not just a part of our culture, but an essential component of our corporate vision for long-term growth, innovation, and success.

Our team-focused culture incorporates many ideas, perspectives and viewpoints in our determination to put patients at the center of everything we do. Our inclusive programs and policies make Takeda a workplace of choice where talented professionals can grow and flourish.

Takeda’s Diversity & Inclusion Council and Employee Resource Groups

To ensure we support both our workforce and our business strategy, our U.S. D&I Council represents many areas of our business, including our field sales units. Council members advocate for all of our employees while providing insight into their parts of the organization as they develop and promote inclusive programs and policies.

A notable achievement of our U.S. D&I Council is the expansion of our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). These groups consist of individuals with shared characteristics and life experiences, as well as their advocates and allies. They work to enhance career development, foster personal development, and positively contribute to business outcomes.

Takeda’s Inclusive Culture

At Takeda, we continually broaden our efforts to ensure a fully inclusive culture to secure our place as an employer of choice, as a valued contributor within the communities in which we live and work, and as a leader in providing innovative solutions for patients.

Current programs that further these goals include:

   •  Diverse recruiting initiatives and partnerships
   •  Cross-cultural awareness training and resources
   •  Flexible employee policies and programs
   •  Healthcare Business Women’s (HBA) mentor program
   •  Performance-based recognition
   •  Community outreach programs
   •  Supplier diversity programs
   •  Cross-functional U.S. Diversity Council and Field Task Force

Takeda has committed itself to fostering workplace development, diversity, and inclusion at Takeda and across the biotechnology industry.
