From a manufacturing perspective, Takeda has facilities in 18 countries worldwide and Takeda Ireland Ltd, are part of the Global Manufacturing and Supply Chain (GMS) group reporting to their Head Quarters in Zurich.
Takeda Ireland have played a key role in Takeda's worldwide operations since October 1997 when they began manufacturing drug products in Bray, Co. Wicklow, Ireland. In 2002, Takeda located it’s overseas manufacturing centre for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) in Grange Castle and is an important strategic site established to produce API for global markets. This operation licenses key products and takes responsibility for activities from research, development and manufacturing through to distribution.
Located at the high technology Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Business Park at Grange Castle in Dublin, Takeda Ireland - Grange Castle is Takeda's first API manufacturing operation to be located outside Japan. It is a modern, automated multi-purpose facility with a high focus on Quality and Safety. Grange Castle produces APIs for the treatment of Diabetes, Oncology, Insomnia, Weight loss, Acid related disease, Bipolar disorder and Hypertension.
A new exciting investment has been approved for our Grange Castle site to construct a new standalone, high containment, state of the art production facility dedicated to the manufacture of our oncology product NINLARO, a treatment for patients with multiple myeloma, for global markets. Construction of this facility commenced in March 2017, with handover expected in August 2018 for production to start soon after.
