Takeda Ireland is a wholly owned subsidiary of Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited, the number one pharmaceutical company in Japan and one of the world’s top 100 companies.
Established in Ireland since 1997, Takeda Ireland employs over 350 people in the following areas: Takeda Ireland Ltd - Manufacturing of Drug Products (DP), Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), Process Development, Packaging and Supply chain; and Takeda Products Ireland Ltd - Sales and Marketing.
From a manufacturing perspective, Takeda has facilities in 18 countries worldwide, and Takeda Ireland Ltd is part of the Global Manufacturing and Supply Chain (GMS) group reporting to their Head Quarters in Zurich.
Takeda Ireland has played a key role in Takeda's worldwide operations since October 1997 when they began manufacturing drug products in Bray, Co. Wicklow, Ireland following the opening of custom-built premises in 1999.
In 2002, Takeda located its overseas manufacturing centre for active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) in Grange Castle. This operation licenses key products and takes responsibility for activities from research, development and manufacturing through to distribution. In 2017 Grange Castle received additional investment to construct a new standalone, high containment, state of the art production facility dedicated to the manufacture of our oncology product NINLARO, a treatment for patients with multiple myeloma, for global markets. Construction of this facility has commenced.
From 2011, Takeda Products Ireland have been located in City West, Dublin and are pioneers of collaborative working with local health organisations to help them meet their specific healthcare objectives. Takeda Products Ireland Ltd has accumulated a vast experience of partnership projects in Takeda’s core therapy areas, especially in the management of chronic conditions.
