Takeda UK was announced the winner of the PMEA Company of the Year title at a prestigious awards ceremony on 27th November in central London, and was also the winner of four award categories and highly commended and finalists in two other categories within the programme.
The prestigious Company of the Year award is presented to the pharmaceutical, life science or medical device company that most demonstrates outstanding customer-centric achievement.
Commenting on Takeda UK’s achievement, the independent judging panel said; “Takeda are an extremely impressive operation with a fantastic team ethos. They are forward thinking, lead from the front, live their values and have an impressive list of achievements, whilst successfully navigating a sizeable integration. Their presence within the UK healthcare environment belies their shape and size, and their extremely impressive customer focus is at the heart of what they are about.”
As well as demonstrating an innovative business approach, the patient-centered mindset of Takeda was very influential in securing the overall winning award. Winning the ‘Patient Education & Support’ category and being highly commended for the ‘Patient-Centricity’ category, the oncology team illustrated the company’s strategy for placing patients first and at the centre of everything they do.
The already multiple award-winning ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s patient campaign developed by Takeda was announced the winner of the ‘Collaboration & Partnerships’ category and the programmes were also shortlisted as finalists in the Corporate Reputation & Trust award.
In product introduction and brand management categories; the winner was the ‘Product Introduction’ for non-small cell lung cancer, and the IBD team were announced winners of the ‘Pharma Brand Management’ category.
