"I have worked for Takeda for seven years now. My career highlight to date has been reaching the finals in the 'Account Management Team of the Year' category in the Pharmaceutical Field Awards. This recognition really underlines Takeda's approach to Key Account Management.
I've been working in the industry since 2001, after completing my degree in physiology & pharmacology. Before joining Takeda UK, I had always been interested in the company and particularly the operation of the RAD model.
My initial expectations on joining were soon exceeded and the enthusiasm, professionalism and the expertise of my colleagues continues to impress me.
From the outset, it was evident how Takeda UK is driven by a desire and passion to help the NHS improve health, putting the patients at the centre of everything they do. I have always enjoyed interacting with doctors and nurses, and I feel very proud when I hear them talk to me about how patients respond to the medicines that we promote.
In my view, Takeda stands apart because the Senior Leadership Team trusts its employees to work with customers at all levels of the NHS, empowering us team members with accountability and responsibility within an ever-changing environment.
Working under the guidance of the RAD model has helped me develop a more strategic approach. It is empowering to be able to analyse opportunities and develop account plans, with real autonomy based on our local knowledge. This model has resulted in sustained sales success.
Because Takeda is a lean, agile, company, I've had the chance to be a part of brand teams, work with marketing on future strategy and experience other therapy areas. Importantly, I've been able to work in partnership with NHS customers that I never would have seen before I came to Takeda."
