Takeda Canada launches new corporate social responsibility platform – Takeda Responsibility
Upgraded program and process emphasizes importance company places on responsibility to partners, communities and employees

Takeda Canada Inc. is pleased to announce today the launch of its new corporate social responsibility (CSR) program called Takeda Responsibility.

“Takeda Responsibility is not just about the launch of a new name, platform and process, it’s about a new way of working with our partners. Having this program in place helps ensure that we meet our strong commitment to our business partners, the communities where we operate and to our employees,” said Mike Egli, President and CEO of Takeda Canada Inc. “It demonstrates the emphasis we place on our commitment to Canadians through our financial and product donations, our involvement in community projects, medical and scientific education. Giving back to our communities is part of who we are at Takeda and we strongly encourage our employees to volunteer in their own communities and I’m proud of all the efforts by our team.”

Takeda Responsibility supports initiatives in five key areas: local community activities, health and science education, health charities working in the same therapeutic areas as Takeda, community vitality and medical education. The program also makes product donations for overseas humanitarian use in partnership with HPIC (Health Partners International of Canada). It also administers programs that match employees’ personal charitable donations and allow employees time away from work to take part in community volunteer activities.

The partnerships developed by Takeda Responsibility help Takeda Canada live up to its slogan of “Better Health, Brighter Future.” They are also consistent with the company’s core values, called Takeda-ism, which guide all activities. This includes a pledge to act with integrity – which comprises fairness, honesty and perseverance – at all times, while contributing to the broader society.
The launch of Takeda Responsibility includes a new online process for accepting and evaluating requests for support from stakeholders. Takeda Canada now only accepts this type of application through the online process which can be accessed via the company’s website, www.takedacanada.com.
