Takeda concentrate its management resources to the four core therapeutic areas:
Through implementation of our Marketing-Production-Development-Research-Alliance-Patent (MPDRAP[*]) strategy, we aim for efficient, speedy R&D and market launches of pharmaceutical products. This strategy, which utilizes a multi-departmental team, helps us set parameters in areas such as product originality, market needs, continuity of therapeutic area strategies, profitability, and investment risk and then prioritize R&D accordingly. Thus, we are better able to allocate resources to projects most likely to generate solid earnings and increase the speed of R&D.
[*] A system that enables rapid decision-making by sharing information across each of our marketing, production, development, research, alliance and patent (MPDRAP) divisions.
Takeda positions "oncology diseases area" as a core area, following that of lifestyle-related diseases, among four further core therapeutic areas. Takeda will accelerate efforts geared toward the establishment and enhancement of the R&D infrastructure, allowing us to contribute to society through steady accomplishment from fiscal 2011 onwards, by fostering the domain of oncology diseases as a world leading franchise.
