Takeda Global Concert Series Japan Tour
by London Symphony Orchestra

Osaka, Japan, February 13, 2004 --- Takeda Chemical Industries, Ltd. ("Takeda") that the "Takeda Global Concert Series" Japan Tour performed by the London Symphony Orchestra ("LSO") will take place in March 8-17, 2004.

The first "Takeda Global Concert Series" was performed in 1989, and since that time, this is the sixth tour. This Series started in April 2003 in Europe, under the direction of principal conductor, Sir Colin Davis, and had five concerts in the United States, followed by this Japan Tour and will complete with the European Tour that begins in October 2004.

At the Japan Tour, starting from March 8 in Sapporo, the LSO will perform also in cities of Kyoto, Niigata, Tokyo, Okayama and Fukuoka. Two famous Japanese soloists, pianist Mitsuko Uchida, and violinist Sayaka Shoji will join in some programs.

LSO founded in 1904, known for its exquisite artistry and long distinguished history,@celebrates its centenary this year. It has always been grasping the trends in the world of music and with the harmonization with its own traditions, the LSO is admired as "an ideal orchestra" and has established its fame as one of the top orchestras in the world.
