OSAKA, JAPAN, June 27, 2003 --- Takeda Chemical Industries, Ltd. ("Takeda") announced today that its Pharmaceutical International Division is re-organized into three regional units such as Division of Americas, Department of Europe and Department of Asia, and each will operate independently.
Under the new organization, each business unit by region will directly report to the top management, and accordingly, the communication between the headquarters and overseas subsidiaries/affiliates is expected to become further effective to enhance Takeda's overseas operation, especially in the U.S., which holds the world's largest pharmaceutical market.
With this change, Takeda expects that it becomes more efficient to establish strategies and conduct operations, which is specific to each region based on the difference of business environment, market size of the U.S., Europe and Asia.
