Tokyo and Osaka, Japan - February 24, 2011 – Incorporated educational institution Waseda University (“Waseda University”, main campus: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo) and Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited (“Takeda”, headquarter: Chuo-ku, Osaka), jointly announced today an agreement to establish Takeda’s endowment course (“the course”) at Waseda University to foster global talents in September, 2011.
The course comprised of 15 classes, will be offered to both Japanese and international students in English language. Takeda’s executives and the heads of its overseas subsidiaries will deliver a lecture and facilitate discussion with students by introducing not only the strategies of research, development and marketing but also business management and CSR activities in an integrated manner.
“The activities and structures of Japanese companies have been rapidly globalized,” said Norimasa Morita, Ph.D., Dean of Waseda Univeristy School of International Liberal Studies. “Under these circumstances, we appreciate that Takeda, a leading Japanese pharmaceutical company, will kindly introduce to our students its global business along with its corporate philosophy and ethics as a case study. We expect that our students will become global talents learning through this course.”
