Takeda's Licensing Activities

Takeda's mission is to "strive toward better health for individuals and progress in medicine by developing superior pharmaceutical products." To deliver innovative new drugs longed for by patients, doctors, and medical service providers as early as possible, Takeda defines its alliance and licensing activities as reinforcement measures to complement its proprietary research and development pipelines.
To develop global licensing activities efficiently and dynamically, Takeda has established a system that allows quick actions and decision making by allocating alliance specialists in 3 key strategic regions, i.e., Japan, the United States, and Europe, under the Global Licensing & Business Development Department, an organization directly reported to our president.

Takeda also maintains the following as the basic concepts of its licensing activities to maximize the synergy from combinations of our superior points with those of our partners.

  • 1. Respecting our partners' passion and visions.
  • 2. Proposing creative schemes that will generate merits for both Takeda and our partners to keep "our mutual win-win situation."
  • 3. Generous contribution, and commitment, by each of our related division and by our management team, leading to success in mutual alliances.
