Takeda sets several prioritized disease areas for research and development, i.e., metabolic / cardiovascular diseases, cancer and urological diseases, central nervous system diseases, and gastrointestinal diseases. Specifically, we target our licensing activities at the following therapeutic areas.
Diabetes mellitus and its complications, hyperlipidemia, obesity, hypertension, thrombosis, and congestive heart failure
Solid tumors, blood malignancies, adjuvant therapies for cancer, urination disorders, neurogenic bladder, and endometriosis
Depression, schizophrenia, anxiety disorders, insomnia, migraine, Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, various pain types, osteoporosis, arthritis, and osteoarthrosis
Gastrointestinal diseases such as gastroesophageal reflux disease, functional gastrointestinal disease, irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn's disease, and ulcerative colitis and respiratory diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, and rhinitis
It aims to create drugs based on new technologies such as antibody and nucleic acid preparations, which are biological preparations, as well as tablets, injections, and vaccines.
In addition, we have keen interests in various discovery research technologies and original drug development concepts and approaches, which are indispensable for improving the efficiency of research and development of new drugs.
