Our Mission is as follows: "We strive toward better health for individuals and progress in medicine by developing superior pharmaceutical products. "We understand that we must behave ethically in every aspect of our business to make our Mission a reality and to be regarded as a valued member of society.
Because we produce and sell pharmaceutical products that are important to human health, we understand that people pay close attention to our activities. Therefore, to preserve the trust of the public, we conduct our business in accordance with applicable laws and high ethical standards.
So that all executives and employees would comply with domestic and foreign laws and business ethics, we started the "Takeda Compliance Program for Globalization" in April of 1999, and revised the program in June of 2002. In accordance with this Program, we established the "Takeda Code of Compliance Standards" as standards of conduct to which executives and employees must adhere, and we have made progress in promoting company-wide compliance by designating a Compliance Officer, a Compliance Promotion Committee and a Compliance Secretariat.
In each organization, Compliance Enforcers (the heads of each of our primary organizations), together with Compliance Sub-Enforcers and Area Compliance Enforcers, will instruct their staffs to practice compliance based on the Compliance Education Annual Plan. Furthermore, the Compliance Enforcers will encourage domestic and overseas affiliated companies to observe compliance, and will cooperate with these affiliated companies in their implementation of the Program.
As all executives and employees practice this Program, we will continue to promote compliance with the law and business ethics. Compliance will ensure Takeda's place as a global corporation and solidify its role as a good corporate citizen that fulfills its responsibilities to the public.
